Exolgan: electromechanical maintenance with dedicated staff since 2014

A long-term relationship

At a container terminal, power cannot fail: refrigerated (reefer) containers need a continuous supply and the equipment runs 24 hours a day. Since 2014 we have been Exolgan’s electromechanical maintenance team at its Dock Sud site, and over that time we have also designed and built much of the expansion of its electrical network.

What we did

Maintenance and on-call service

• Electromechanical maintenance with dedicated staff at the terminal since 2014.
• Emergency response and 24-hour on-call service.
• Preventive maintenance of the medium voltage switchgear (3.3 kV and 13.2 kV) at substations No. 1 and No. 2.
• Annual grounding, residual current device and thermography measurement service.

Engineering

• Medium and low voltage electrical design for the refurbishment and expansion of the site’s electrical network: medium voltage engineering, transformer substations and low voltage installations.

Works

• Power upgrade and electrical refurbishment of medium voltage substation No. 2.
• Conduit installation, wiring and connection of 30 reefer container walkways, our most recent work at the terminal.
• Supply, installation and commissioning of 18 disconnect panels for the electrical modification of the refrigerated walkways (reefer full).
• Power supply for lighting tower No. 9 and for the 40 m self-raising towers No. 13, No. 14 and No. 15.
• Installation and connection of the signal and power wiring for the anti-collision sensors of an RTG crane.

The result

More than a decade supporting the terminal’s operations, with one team that maintains, designs and expands the installation. Knowing every substation, switchboard and walkway lets us respond quickly to emergencies and plan works without stopping operations.
