Success story
Maincal: detection of 90 compressed air leaks with losses of 112 MWh/year
We surveyed the compressed air system and located and quantified each leak, so repairs can be prioritized by impact.
The starting point
In 2026, Maincal commissioned Grupo Nabla to assess its compressed air system to find out how much energy was being lost and what to fix first.
What we did
- We surveyed compressors, the distribution network and points of use, along with the operating and maintenance routines.
- We walked the network to detect leaks and efficiency losses, and measured compressor consumption.
- We cross-checked the results against production records and bills to quantify the wasted energy.
- We presented an improvement plan prioritized by savings, investment and payback period.
The result
We identified 90 compressed air leaks representing electricity losses of 112 MWh per year. With each leak located and quantified, repairs can be ordered by impact, starting with the most costly ones.
